We created OpenPOS to solve some headaches experienced by a few of our wonderful customers. The profound set of circumstances around timing and speed of delivery caused us to quickly widen our horizons and produce a fully Open Source EPOS.

OpenPOS is web-based, meaning you can run it on anything that can connect to the internet! Whether it be a laptop, ipad, desktop, whatever you like. If you have internet connection, you're ready.

We initially developed the prototype MVP product with iOS/iPad using bluetooth barcode scanner and receipt printer. 

It was important to us to keep costs down to an absolute minimum, so that even the smallest merchants can get up and running on the smallest cost.

If you look at other POS systems, you're typically faced with anything from £3-6k for hardware alone; not to mention ongoing monthly costs of £100+.

This isn't the case with OpenPOS; the outlay is minimal, and there are no ongoing monthly costs

Even the industry leading POS systems have caused headaches for some of our clients, that's why we built OpenPOS!

We were struggling to effectively provide solutions for customers until we built our own using Hyvä, Hyvä Checkout and Magewire.
